My Seiko Story

UNBELIEVABLE CHRISTMAS STORY

At 10.15 am on Sunday the 28th of December 2008. I was teaching my daughter to surf at Broadbeach we were out the back and a nice little swell started to roll in, I held my daughters board and pointed her towards the shore line. A wave came in got her to start paddling slowly as she took off on the wave the leg rope got tangled around my arm and ripped down my arm, and yes ripped my SEIKO Divers watch clean off my wrist. I quickly dived up and down looking for my watch which had been given to me for my 40th birthday (4 years ago) no luck. I was a shattered man my daughter felt she was to blame, and was in tears. For a while we searched but to no prevail. We both went home in a very sombre mood that morning.

It is funny how you can become so attached to something, I went to work that afternoon and I was telling my staff the story and they felt for my loss. I was devastated.

The Monday morning I pulled out some old watches but they needed new batteries and bands, I never had that problem with my SEIKO Automatic,

I arrived home from work on Monday afternoon and my girls asked if they could go for a surf, we went to the beach where I had lost my watch the previous day and we surfed for a while. Once again I held my daughter in the position to the shore and let her go. The wave stopped she fell off her board and felt something hard at her feet she reached down and it was my watch!!! UNBELEIVABLE!!! She yelled out to me, I found your watch. I swam so fast to her I would have put Michael Phelps to shame. When I got to her, yes it was my SEIKO Divers watch. 32 hours at the bottom of the ocean, sea swell, moving sand banks, beach goers . The distance between the previous day surf spot and the spot it was found absolutely amazing. I had a grin from ear to ear my wife and four daughters were filled with joy.

As I write this I am still amazed and have to keep looking to see if my watch is really on my wrist. I have been telling all my work colleagues and they shake their head in disbelief.

What are the odds- This is an unbelievable christmas story. The watch had not missed a beat! No leaks, no scratches, nothing. This is an unbelievable watch and story.
